As I explained yesterday, we’re living through a new geopolitics for AI.
In short, this is an entire redefinition of what it means to build the whole ecosystem for AI, which, to be clear, might be as strong as the last industrial revolution.
As I’ve highlighted, AI is eating the world, and we’re only at the beginning of this cycle of development of the whole ecosystem.
In other words, the artificial intelligence landscape rapidly evolves into a defining element of geopolitical competition and economic development. As actors in this industry, we have a unique chance to observe this development as it unfolds.
As nations and regions position themselves in this technological race, two distinct approaches have emerged: Fragmented Globalization (US-led) and Vertical Integration, or what I’d rather call “isolation management,” which is China’s strategy to survive in a time when the US is becoming much more conscious of its dominance in AI as a critical element of its future success as a global power.
Understanding these models is crucial for policymakers, business leaders, and technologists navigating the complex AI ecosystem we’re living thourhg.
What I’m covering here has also represented an incredible paradigm shift.
As someone who has operated as an independent player throughout the web era, discovering that we’re in a completely different timeline has been shocking initially, yet reassuring once you make sense of the noise around.
I hope this can help you navigate these complex times, make sense of probably one of the most interesting eras in human history, and be part of it!
