I found that one of the greatest confusions in business is about revenue vs. business modeling.

Indeed, most people confuse the former for the latter, limiting their strategy.

Indeed, while a revenue model does inform a business model, it does help shape it.

A business model is a much broader concept that informs the company's whole strategy, whereas the revenue model might be more about the tactical achievement of that strategy.

A revenue stream is one of the foundational building blocks of a business model, and the economic value customers are willing to pay for the products and services offered.

Thus, while a revenue stream is not a business model, it influences how it works and delivers value.
