The New Organizational Architecture
In the updated Map of AI, we analyzed the six dimensions or the forces of the transformation we’re living through. This analysis, instead, describes the structure that emerges when those forces have run their course — what the agentic enterprise actually looks like as an architectural system, how its layers relate to one another, and what the implications are for how it is designed, managed, and evolved.
Understanding the new architecture at this level of depth matters because architectural decisions compound. Organizations that build the wrong architecture — even one that produces reasonable short-term results — accumulate structural debt that becomes increasingly expensive to unwind. The organizations that get the architecture right early will compound structural advantages for the next decade. Getting it right requires understanding it at the system level, not just the initiative level.
