Since the “ChatGPT Moment,” we’ve all been dumping on Google and its inability to lead a field—the current AI paradigm—which was indeed opened up by its research arm in 2017!
Well, yesterday, for the first time since this new AI era, Google made a move that is only comparable to that of Amazon in terms of vision and holisticness to its entire business strategy for the next 20-30 years.
This move, indeed, is centered around three core pillars:
Google’s Cloud AI Hypercomputer: This comprises the AI Chip architecture and infrastructure that will be instrumental in serving all the internal and external needs of Google as a juggernaut of AI.
AI Cloud Servicing: At its core, AI Cloud Servicing offers enterprise-based cloud AI services and is also an inference platform that could potentially serve millions of businesses worldwide in the newly developing AI ecosystem.
Consumer integration and market discovery: AI integration is needed to keep search relevant (though I must say that’s the hardest to pull up) while opening up new niches that can become as big as search (e.g., AR software and hardware).
Let me explain!
